Afternoon Readers,
A bit late for a wrap up, but let's do a quick one for snapshot.
Overall, market reverted the over reaction on friday, setting HSI to bounce off Friday's low, as bears scrambles to cover shorts. However, actions became very quiet throughout the day as volume remained sluggish throughout the day.
The overall bouncer took the general market up, however, special mention goes to consumer stocks that took an early lead, with GE (3308.HK) reaching a high at +7%, and NWDS finishing + 7%. However, Parkson's result took the sector down, as not meeting consensus result made it sank 6.5%.
Export-related stocks all took a general hike up, with Foxconn (2038.HK) up 6%, and NDP and LMP up 3-4%. Ports related stocks all took a general 3-4% up as well.
Would continue to eye these sectors as near term bullishness remains intact from a global recovery, whilst China inflation remains low is an general support for slower rate hikes, which will remain supportive for the market. Would also continue to eye for chinese banks, as recent punishment seems to have also priced in further RRR hikes, though this development needs closer monitoring after Chinese resuming trade.
ongy out.
